Hi There,
Welcome to my website dedicated to Oncology Physiotherapy. I’m so glad you stumbled upon this corner of the internet.
This is Dr Shreyasi Ghatkar, an enthusiastic and passionate physiotherapist specialising in Oncology.
Throughout my academic journey, clinical experiences and time at KLE Cancer Hospital, Tata Memorial Hospital, and Mumbai Oncocare Centre (Cancer Care & Research Centre – Mumbai) , I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that physiotherapy can have on the lives of individuals undergoing cancer treatment. From managing treatment side effects to enhancing physical function and overall well-being, the power of physiotherapy in the field of Oncology is truly remarkable.
Whether you are a patient navigating a diagnosis, a caregiver holding things together, a physiotherapy student eager to learn, or simply someone curious about the world of oncology, this space was built with you in mind.
When I envisioned this website, my goal was simple: to create a one-stop hub where clinical expertise meets genuine community. Oncology care can feel overwhelming and fragmented, but it doesn’t have to be.
Here is a quick look at what you can find here:
For Patients and Survivors
Dealing with cancer comes with a lot of physical hurdles, whether you are currently in the thick of treatment or navigating the “what now?” phase of survivorship. Here, we openly talk about how oncology physiotherapy can help manage the side effects you might be quietly dealing with, like fatigue, pain, stiffness, or mobility issues.
Appointments and Virtual Care
Healing shouldn’t involve jumping through endless hoops. If you’re looking for personalized guidance, you can book appointments directly right here on the site. I offer both in-person physiotherapy sessions and tele-rehabilitation, meaning you can get virtual consultations and support from the comfort of your own home.
For Students and the Curious
If you’re a physiotherapy student looking to expand your horizons, or just someone who loves staying updated, this is your jumping-off point. Oncology physiotherapy is a rapidly growing field, so I’ve put together a dedicated space featuring the latest news, new research, and current trends. You can use it as a starting point to dive into what is happening in the field right now. There is also the Learning Lab, where you can go through different topics put up from the curriculum to read about and study.
The Shared Stories Section
Cancer isn’t just a medical diagnosis, it’s a deeply human experience. Coming soon, we are launching a dedicated write-up section where patients, caregivers, and oncology healthcare professionals can share their raw, real experiences. You can share anonymously or under your own name. My hope is that by sharing these perspectives, someone out there will read them and realize they aren’t carrying this weight alone.
Let’s Connect
Ultimately, this page is about bridging the gap between medical care and everyday life. Take a look around, explore the resources, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to say hello.
I’m incredibly happy to have you here!
Warm regards,
OncoPhysio 😊
